This clock my dad picked up in Garmish Germany in the late 60's. The story behind this clock is that after my father had finished rebuilding it, he hung it with the other clocks of his collection on the living room wall. As we were living an apartment building, the wall facing the stairwell was the wall he used for his clocks. The building was made of steel and cinderblock. One night when the folks went out to a local party, this clock alarm function got stuck and began to strike without stopping. The sound reverberated in the stairwell and sounded all the world like an fire alarm. After the fire department left, a very irate building super was waiting for my dad when he got back. After that, Dad wasn't allowed to have his clocks running all at the same time anymore.

This clock was an unfortunate victim of the floods that claimed my dads collection. I think I have all the pieces to put it back together.
