The story behind this clock is that when my father was still in the army, we went to visit my grandfather in Germany, he found this clock at an antique store that had already closed for the night. So my dad and grandfather waited outside all night for the store to reopen. (Interesting side note: We had this clock, another long case clock, three kids, two dogs, and all the suitcases to go with it in a 1970 Chevy station wagon, driving through Europe)
