Floor-standing clock whose weight-driven movement
contained in the upper section (hood) It required a
'Long Case' to allow the weights to drop an adequate
distance; first made in the mid-17th century. Also
called a 'Tall Case clock' a 'Tall Clock, 'Long Case' or a
'Grandfather Clock'.
