I paid way too much for this when I went to Greece several years ago
(US Navy) I found it in the back of a dingy rundown shop specializing in
separating tourists from their money. Anyway, it came without a pendulum, and it wasn't until I got
it back to the ship that I found it to be of Chinese make. Pretty statue though. I'm
contemplating buying a repro mystery clock movement from Timesavers and replacing this
clock with it.
UPDATE (Aug 25, 1999): This damn clock fell over and hit me in the
head while I was cleaning around it. It has since been 'retired' to the garage to await a
new movement.
UPDATE (Nov 11, 2000)
Movers nearly destroyed this clock while moving
to my new home. Porcelain face and movement
housing were crushed beyond recognition. Have a
great, if heavy, statue but no clock to put on
it. Anyone got a spare?

After it fell over, I took the
clock portion off to see what it would take to get a genuine mystery movement for this
clock. I may just offer this up for a trade.
